13 Jan Sample of a Project Cargo Shipment From GLA’s Member in Turkey and Iraq
AYSA Shipping and Logistics successfully managed a complex project cargo operation involving Out-of-Gauge (OOG) transportation for a client with multiple shipment origins. The cargo was partially located in Canada and partially in the USA, but AYSA efficiently consolidated the shipments at Houston Port for export. This consolidation allowed for streamlined logistics and cost-effective handling. The cargo was then loaded at Houston Port and transported via sea to Iskenderun Port in Turkey, the designated port of discharge.
From Iskenderun, the project cargo continued its journey by road to the final delivery location in northern Iraq, crossing through the Ibrahim Khalil border, a key crossing point between Turkey and Iraq. This border crossing posed unique logistical challenges due to its remote location and regulatory requirements. However, AYSA Shipping and Logistics’ extensive experience in handling project cargo ensured smooth customs clearance and safe delivery of the OOG cargo to its final destination. The entire process highlighted AYSA’s expertise in managing complex, multi-country shipments with precision, ensuring timely and secure delivery despite the geographical challenges.
